Babysitting Clinic Babysitting Clinic Offered -The Webster County Extension and Outreach Office will be sponsoring  a Babysitting Clinic on Monday, December 29th, 8:45 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. for youth in 5th grade and older.  The cost of the Clinic is $15 and will cover materials, a pizza lunch and snacks.  Speakers include:  Extension personnel; a local fireman; and a mother of young children.  A babysitting handbook will also be given to all particpants.  Please register by calling the Extension Office at (515)-576-2119 by December 24th as registration is limited. 

Fun Day During Holidays Offered by ISU/Webster Co. Extension & Outreach for Youth in 2nd and 3rd Grades - The Webster County Extension Office will sponsor a fun-filled day for youth in 2nd and 3rd grades on Tuesday, December 30th, from 8:45 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.  Participants will have plenty of fun hands-on activities.  The cost of the program is $10 which will cover lunch and snacks.  Please register by calling the Webster County Extension Office at (515)-576-2119 by December 24th as registration is limited.

2014 Farm BillJoin ISU Extension Farm Management Specialists and staff from USDA FSA  at the 2014 Farm Bill - Program Overview on Tuesday, January 6th, beginning at 1:30 p.m. at the Webster County Fairgrounds (227770 Old Highway 169, Fort Dodge, IA). This program will address some of of the new farm bill provisions, discuss ARC and PLC options and to hear about the decisions to be made in the coming months.  Participation is welcome for farm operators and landlords regardless of their county of operation.  This program is open to public at no cost.  However pre-registration is required by contacting the Webster County Extension Office at 515-576-2110 or xwebster@iastate.edu by January 5th.

Crop AdvantageIowa State University Extension and Outreach will host a Crop Advantage meeting on January 21, 2015 at the Best Western-Starlite in Fort Dodge.  The program is hosted by Mark Johnson and Angie Rieck-Hinz, ISUE Field Agronomists.  Crop Advantage provides the latest information to promote profitable and sustainable decision-making for the upcoming growing season.  "The Fort Dodge location features a variety of topics, including crops, pests, soil fertility and farm management," said Angie Rieck-Hinz.  Early registration is $50 by January 13th.  Registrations received after that date or on-site are $60.  Registration includes lunch, proceedings booklet, private applicator recertification and CCA credits.  For online registration, or information about this and other Crop Advantage meetings across, Iowa, visit Crop Advantage 2015.

Strengthening Families Program is for all parents and youth in 6th grade for the Fort Dodge community schools.  This is a fun and effective prevention program aimed to reduce youth problem behaviors, involves parent and middle school youth to enhance parenting skills and strengthen families.  To join our upcoming January classes you can complete and submit this online registration form, OR, complete the paper registration form and send to sschill@iastate.edu or to Webster County Extension and Outreach, 217 South 25th Street, Fort Dodge, IA.  Check out our youtube video.


The Family Nutrition Program (FNP) is a FREE program available to families in Webster County to help parents provide nutritious food for their families, leading to healthy children and strong families.  Family Nutrition Program (FNP) staff work with pregnant teens, families with young children and youth. Program staff meet with participants one-on-one and in small groups. Lessons are selected depending on the needs and wants of the participants. Retirement Workshops coming to Webster County in January
