The forces of nature – wind, water, earthquake, and extremes of temperature – can leave behind debris – strewn areas, contaminated water, spoiled food, displaced wildlife and conditions which, if not treated properly, may lead to health problems.  In the attached publication you’ll find information to help you avoid and recover from some of the hazards created by wind and water; severe winter weather is covered in a separate publication.  Remember to take care of yourself and your family first, and then deal with the things you may have lost to the disaster.

The cash rental rate information presented in this publication is the result of a survey of farmers, landowners, lenders, real estate brokers, and professional farm managers. They supplied information based on their best judgements about typical cash rent.

Iowa farmers who perform custom work, hire work done, or some of both, have the 2014 Iowa Farm Custom Rate Survey schedule as a guide in determining custom rates. This information is based on a survey of 195 Iowa farmers, custom operators, and farm managers.  For each operation, the average rate from the survey and the range are shown.

The school year wanes as summer arrives. It’s time to get the kids outside to explore endless possibilities, says Donna K Donald, a family life program specialist with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. Nature is calling.


Once again our County Communication Event will be held at the Corydon United Methodist Church starting at 9:00. Please call the office to schedule a time slot. The dead line will be July 1st this year. Attached are the communication event forms, also available at the extension office.
