4-H’ers involved in the bucket bottle project are invited to attend an informational meeting on Monday, March 13 at 7:30 p.m. at the Washington County Extension Office. This is an introductory meeting to the Bucket Bottle Project. Department superintendents will discuss deadlines, records, and fair requirements.
The 4-H After School STEM Club is now taking registrations for the March and April Sessions. This science club is open to students in 3rd-5th grade. Washington County Extension & 4-H and Lincoln Elementary are partnering together with a sponsorship from Bazooka Farmstar to offer additional and fun ways for Washington youth to interact with sciencein a hands-on setting.
The Washington County Fair Swine Committee will again offer a production barrow division for the 2017 Washington County Fair. Participation in the production barrow division is optional for all exhibitors. Those wanting to participate must contact the Extension Office by March 15 for their exact weigh-in time.
Washington County 6-8 grade 4-H’ers are invited to attend 4-H Crop Science STEM day trip on March 24. 4-H’ers will see some behind-the-scene science involved at Monsanto Seed in Muscatine while also getting to do some hands-on experiments related to the advancement of crops around the world.
