The annual food safety & quality assurance training dates have been set. This educational program helps youth understand their role in the food supply chain and educates youth about the importance of following a quality assurance program when raising market animals.
Applications are now being accepted for a Summer STEM Camp Coordinator. This position will serve Iowa, Johnson, Keokuk and Washington counties. The Summer STEM Camp Coordinator will provide four STEM programs for youth in each county through the summer.
Ricochet is a leadership education program targeted for middle school youth to develop and enhance leadership skills. Some youth are born with strong leadership skills while others need more encouragement. Ricochet curriculum is broken into five main areas: leadership information, leadership attitude, communication, decision making and stress management. Training will be offered in Iowa City on April 9 and 23.
The Washington County 4-H ELITE Project Team is hosting a new two-day camp for Clover Kids interested in exploring the wide variety of Ag businesses in our community and state. The camp will take place on March 22 and March 29from 1-4 p.m. each day. There are still some openings left. The camp is now open to 1st graders as well as 2nd and 3rd graders.
