Washington 4-H County Council will host a special Winter Wonderland Father Daughter Dance open to the public for any kindergarten-fourth grade girl and the special man in her life.  Fathers, grandfathers, uncles, older brothers, neighbors, etc are welcome to attend as the adult guest.  This evening of dancing and games will be held Jan. 31 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. in Dallmeyer Hall – lower level on the fairgrounds.  Special guest, Elsa, from Frozen will be attending. Click here for registration form.

Washington County 7th-9th  grade 4-H’ers are invited to attend Region 15 4-H Intermediate Trip to Omaha, Nebraska, March 13-14.  Overnight will be spent at the Henry Doorly Zoo with the penguins after enjoying a night hike and behind the scenes tour.   4-H’ers will visit the Strategic Air & Space Museum to learn about past, present and future aircraft.  They will also visit the Durham Museum and then end the trip with a high energy visit to the indoor trampoline park Defy Gravity which includes dodgeball and laser maze.  Click here for registration form.

Washington County Extension & 4-H and Lincoln Elementary are partnering together Feb 9-12 to offer a 4 day mini-science camp called Shake Things Up – Designing Earthquake Resistant Structures.  This camp is open to any 4th- 5thgrade student who wants to experiment more with science, earthquake engineering, shake tables, and building codes.  Click here for registration form.

The Washington County Extension Office is accepting applications for the 4-H Leadership Development Program.  Participants must be members of the Washington County 4-H program and be in grades 9 - 11.  This course focuses on building leadership skills including communication, team building, problem solving and event planning.  Completion is a requirement to apply for county Council or ELITE Project Team in 2015-2016.  Click here for application.
