The Master Gardener Summer Session will be held July 11-12, 2008, at Iowa State Univeristy in Ames.  This event provides participants the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of horticulture.  Summer Session topics will help take participants to the next level of volunteering.  In two intensive days of training, participants will be able to:

  • Identify common trees in the Iowa landscape
  • Answer common gardening questions from clients
  • Write and critique artlicles on different aspects of gardening
  • Diagnose and recommend management of common plant diseases
  • Deal with difficult clients
  • Observe the latest horticultural research at the Horticulture Research Station
  • Tour Reiman Gardens and the Ada Hayden Herbarium

Early bird registration deadline is May 16 with a registration fee of $150.  After May 16 and until July 1, registration is $200.  Only the first 150 paid registrations will be accepted.
