The Horse & Pony club has spurred other 4-H clubs toward donating money to the Washington County Fair Building fund. In July, the Horse & Pony club donated $500 to the fund and extended a challenge to all other Washington County 4-H clubs. If eight other clubs donated $500 each to the new building, the Horse & Pony club would contribute an additional $500.
Washington County 4-H clubs have risen to the challenge and have donated money to the building fund. As promised, the Horse & Pony club contributed their second $500 donation, for a total of $1,000.
The new Washington County Fair building will be a two level, handicapped accessible building. The building will house Iowa State University Extension, the fair manager’s office, large meeting room and kitchen area, smaller meeting rooms, public restrooms and showers.
