A Progressive Agriculture Safety Day will be held on Saturday, September 20, from 8:00 a.m.-noon at the Washington County Fairgrounds. Youth ages 8-13 are welcome to attend.

The markets are reflecting a great deal of volatility as producers and grain dealers try to get a pre-harvest handle on yields in various areas of the Midwest. There are publications from Cooperative Extension that can assist you in estimating pre-harvest soybean yields and corn yields.

Leadership Development Program to Begin

Beginning in the fall of 2008 a new youth Leadership Development Program (LDP) will begin. This is for all 4-H’ers in 9-12th grade.

Calling All 10-12th Graders! County Council Applications Due October 1st!

County Council is a group of Washington County 4-H'ers in grades 10-12. The group provides input into the county 4-H program, plans and carries out county-wide activities for youth, and provides leadership opportunities. Applications for County Council are due to the Extension Office by October 1st.
