The 2013 Iowa Farm Custom Rate Survey followed the recent trend of small, but consistent increases in rates each year. According to William Edwards, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach economist, most operations showed increases of three to five percent over the average rates in the 2012 survey.  Download survey.

Washington County Extension celebrated Extension Week by “reaching out” to partners and stakeholders in the Washington area.  Extension staff delivered back-scratchers with the imprint “Washington County Extension – Reaching Out to You.”

The 2013 Washington County Spring Preview Show will be held on Saturday, April 20.  The IJBBA sanctioned show is sponsored by Washington County 4-H County Council.  Profits from this event go toward fairground improvements and the Washington County 4-H program.  Download flyer.

A national animal identification system is necessary to help protect American animal agriculture from disease threats. The ability to find potentially sick or exposed animals early in a disease outbreak is essential to controlling the outbreak quickly.
