4-H & Youth

Iowa 4-H Youth Development is the premier youth development program of Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. Providing research-based education to K-12 youth, Iowa 4-H focuses on Healthy Living, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), Leadership and Civic Engagement, and Communication and the Arts. 4-H Clubs in Washington County

Washington County has approximately 650 youth in grades K-12 involved in 4-H.  Washington County has 18 community clubs, and 10 Clover Kids clubs.  If you are a new family looking to find out more about joining 4-H, visit https://www.extension.iastate.edu/washington/join-4-h

4-H County Council

County Council is a group of Washington County 4-H'ers in grades 10-12.  The group provides input into the county 4-H program, plans and carries out county-wide activities for youth, and provides leadership opportunities.  County Council members are ambassadors of the 4-H program and are positive role models for younger 4-H members.

4-H Endowment

The Washington County 4-H Endowment fund is intended for youth programming in Washington County.  When the fund reaches a specified amount of money, the interest can be used for 4-H programming.  All donated money stays in Washington County.  For more information on how to be a 4-H Endowment donor, contact the Washington County Extension Office.
