Washington County Extension is advertising for two summer positions.  Applications for a Summer Day Camp Coordinator and 4-H Summer Intern are now available.  Information may be downloaded from the website, picked up at the office or mailed.  The application packets are due by Friday, March 13, 2015.

The Washington County Master Gardeners are offering a $500 scholarship to a deserving Washington County resident pursuing a horticultural related degree or certificate from a college or university in the state of Iowa.  Click here for application.

February 23, 2015

Washington County 4-H County Council will be sponsoring an IJBBA sanctioned open cattle show on Saturday, April 18 at the Washington County Fairgrounds.  This event is open to youth of all ages up to 21.  To exhibit at this show, there are no requirements be a member of the IJBBA or a member of 4-H.  Members of the IJBBA will receive points.   Click here for registration form.

Growing and harvesting is not just for the farmers anymore but 4-H’ers who live in town or in the country experience much pride with growing and harvesting their 4-H garden projects.  4-H’ers interested in the garden project area are invited to attend an informational meeting on Saturday, Feburary 28, 10 a.m. at the Washington County Extension Office.

Washington County Master Gardener Vickie Gonterman will present "What's Hot in 2015?"  She will talk about new and exciting varieties of hydrangeas, flowers, and shrubs.  The program will be Thursday, March 5, at 6:30 pm at the Keokuk County Extension Office.  The program is free and  open to the public.
