Child care providers will have an opportunity to attend a training presented by Iowa State University and Extension Nutrition and Wellness Specialist Rachel Wall.  ‘Move for Thought’ will be held May 14 at the Washington County Extension office. Providers will receive 2 hours of DHS training credit.  Flyer.

The Washington County Master Gardeners will hold their annual plant sale on Saturday, May 16, in the historic Palmer Polygonal Barn on the Washington County Fairgrounds.  The sale will run from 8:00 am until sold out.  Click here for flyer.

March 25, 2015

Washington County 4th – 6th grade 4-H’ers are invited to attend Region 15 4-H Jr. Camp June 16-18 held at Crooked Creek Camp south of Washington.  Youth will enjoy air conditioned nights with wall climbing, water sliding, fishing, archery, games, tie-dying, and team challenges during the day.  Click here for registration form.

Iowa State University (ISU) Extension to Agriculture and Natural Resources has named Meaghan Anderson as ISU Extension and Outreach agronomy specialist. Meaghan will work from the Johnson County Extension Office in Iowa City and serve eastern Iowa counties including: Benton, Buchanan, Iowa, Johnson, Jones, Keokuk, Linn, Poweshiek, Tama and Washington. The position was formerly held by Jim Fawcett who retired from service in December 2013.  Click here for Crop Update.
