4-H Horse Show

Share A Calf participants

The Washington County Cattlemen's Association is planning a Share-A-Calf program again this year.  This is a unique opportunity that allows 4-H'ers to partner with a Washington County Cattleman to get a calf in December that is shown against other Share-A-Calves at the fair.   Click here for application form.

Judging 4-H Project
September 19, 2014

Join the ranks of 4-H judges by attending a 4-H Judges Training on Saturday, November 8, 2014. Participants will learn from Iowa State University Extension 4-H staff as well as experienced 4-H judges about how to how to evaluate, educate and encourage youth at county fairs.  The training will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 309 N Main St., Mt Pleasant, from 9 am - 3 pm. on Nov 8, 2014.

ISU Forestry Extension
September 19, 2014

A forestry field day will be held October 22 on the Jerry Rediger Farm located at 1256 Kiwi Ave in rural Kalona.  Registration begins at 12:45 pm with the program beginning at 1:00 pm.  Topics will include: when and how to prune and thin plantation trees, how to grade timber, and a tour of the farm which utilizes a direct seeding method.
