Judging 4-H Project
September 19, 2014

Join the ranks of 4-H judges by attending a 4-H Judges Training on Saturday, November 8, 2014. Participants will learn from Iowa State University Extension 4-H staff as well as experienced 4-H judges about how to how to evaluate, educate and encourage youth at county fairs.  The training will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 309 N Main St., Mt Pleasant, from 9 am - 3 pm. on Nov 8, 2014.

ISU Forestry Extension
September 19, 2014

A forestry field day will be held October 22 on the Jerry Rediger Farm located at 1256 Kiwi Ave in rural Kalona.  Registration begins at 12:45 pm with the program beginning at 1:00 pm.  Topics will include: when and how to prune and thin plantation trees, how to grade timber, and a tour of the farm which utilizes a direct seeding method.

PQA Plus
September 18, 2014

The Iowa Pork Industry Center and Iowa State University Extension and Outreach are teaming up to provide training for pork producers and others who need certification in the Pork Quality Assurance Plus©(PQA Plus©) program. One certification session has been set for September 24 at the Washington County Extension Office.

4-H 5K
September 11, 2014

4-H staff, county council and youth committee members are coordinating a fun, fall Saturday morning full of events on the Washington County Fairgrounds Saturday, October 4 to celebrate National 4-H Week.   Click here for flyer and registration form.
