02/12/2012- 4-H Fire Up!
This afternoon is geared towards 4-H members and families who have joined within the last three years. There will be information sessions for parents and members, games, snacks and more! County Council will answer questions and share project ideas/experiences as well. Come meet them and get your questions answered!

02/15/2012- Winter Sheep Program - BRaNDS Sheep Rations
Hands on computer workshop featuring BRaNDS, ISU's new computer program for developing sheep rations. Garland Dahlke and Dan Morrical will lead participants through the new software program and how to use it for ration balancing. Computers will be supplied for the first 20 participants, but participants may also bring their own laptop computers

02/15/2012- Winter Sheep Program - Lamb Barn Workshop
A lamb barn workshop will be held at the Ted Greiner farm at 25517 300th St., Keota, IA. Topics include: feeding ewes, baby lamb processing, lambing time management, tips for troubleshooting problems, and using corn co-products to reduce cost of production. Come dressed for the weather and plan to meet in a lambing barn.

02/16/2012- Confinement Site Manure Applicator Training
Confinement site (private) manure applicator certification. Continuing education to maintain or begin certification as a confinement site manure applicator in Iowa. By attending the workshop, participants will learn about land application rules, manure agitation safety, and nutrient management issues.

02/20/2012- Manure Applicator Training - Dry Manure
Confinement site (private)and Commercial manure applicator certification for dry manure applicators. Continuing education to maintain or begin certification as a confinement site or commercial manure applicator in Iowa. By attending the workshop, participants will learn about land application rules, stockpiling, and nutrient management issues.
