WOMEN, LAND and LEGACY
Women who play a role or are interested in agriculture are invited to, “Women, Land and Legacy” on Thursday, November 5 from 5:30-8 p.m. at Annelise Winery located east of Indianola.
Steve Johnson, an Iowa State University Extension and Outreach farm management specialist, will present, “Crop Revenue Outlook and Farmland Leasing Issues,” which cover Iowa land value and cash rental rate trends, farmland leasing resources and crop revenue strategies.
“If you missed the summer rally, marketing corn and soybeans promises to be a challenge,” said Johnson who will address 2015 crop prices at this meeting and its impact on determining fair cash rent.
The formal meeting scheduled until 8 p.m. is free with a light supper provided. Each participant will also receive a farm lease arrangement book.
Following the meeting, guests are invited to stay for an optional “Wine and Canvas” event facilitated by Rachel Hall of Indianola Glass Creations. This will provide a relaxed time for networking and a chance to paint a fall scene with professional guidance. Canvas kits are $25 with beverages at an additional expense.
