Iowa State University Extension and Outreach in Polk County is hosting a cover crops workshop on Wednesday, March 2 from 1:30-3 p.m.

It is Iowa law that all food establishments must have a least one employee certified in food safety by 2018. The ServSafe program is one way employees can achieve this certification.

Through the generosity of Ronda Lyon and other Warren County residents, and in memory of Tom Lyon, the Tom & Ronda Lyon Warren County 4-H Scholarship was established in 2008.

The Rob Brown Memorial Warren County 4-H Scholarship will be given for 2016, for $300. This scholarship will be paid at the end of the Freshman year after evidence of a minimum GPA of 2.0.  Application deadline is Thursday, June 2, 2016. The application high school transcript and two letters of recommendation are due at the Extension office by Thursday, June 2, 2016, at 4:30 pm.

The program will be held at the DMACC West Campus on Mondays, February 8-March 28 (no class March 14).
