 Organizing Your Applications

Interview Tips

Go to the Iowa State 4-H Recognition site to see video clips from past participants and learn more about each of these opportunities: www.extension.iastate.edu/4h/teens/awards.htm.

The state selection process for the above opportunities will involve:

·         completing an application form,

·         answering application questions and gathering and putting together up to two additional pages of written support material, and

·         an interview at the state level on March 24, 2012.

You will gain experience in interviewing and organizing a portfolio folder which will help you give thoughtful answers to application questions and prepare you for college and job searches.

There are grade requirements for each opportunity.   This results in the youth still being actively involved as a 4-H member when they attend the recognition event.  All information contained in this packet is also available on our website at www.extension.iastate.edu/vanburen/kidsandteens.

Application and support material for each opportunity are to be received at the State 4-H Office or postmarked no later than February 1, 2012.

Please call me with questions at 319-293-3039 and I will be more than happy to help you with the application process or getting started.
