Title: Program Coordinator

Area of Expertise: Margaret Smith is an Extension program specialist with ISU Value Added Agriculture Extension and Sustainable Agriculture. Her Extension experience includes work in crop production and soil management, water quality, and county Extension education and administration. Current programming includes work with small and medium-sized family farms to improve their natural resource base and agricultural marketing efforts. Smith has worked with clients in all aspects of agricultural production including farmers, agricultural input suppliers, agricultural lenders, landlords, farm managers, cooperatives, and farm commodity organizations.

Additional Biographical Information: She holds a Ph.D. in Crop Production and Crop Ecology from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and is currently enrolled in the Allan Savory Center for Holistic ManagementTM Certified Educator Training Program. Smith is also co-manager of a 950-acre organic crop and livestock farm.
