Title: Program Coordinator

Area of Expertise: Madeline Schultz is a Program Coordinator for the Iowa State University Extension Value Added Agriculture Program (VAAP) where she is involved in project management and team support activities. She helps develop and conduct surveys, assists with marketing research, and works with staff to assist entrepreneurial agriculturalists in Iowa with feasibility studies and business planning. Recent projects include agritourism clusters, aquaculture marketing studies, and an agriculture export market assessment. She also plans value-added agriculture forums and other events. She has a special interest in beginning farmers and programs to help encourage them. She recently helped develop an Iowa beginning Farmer Mentor Program and the On-line tool Kit for Beginning Farmers. Last fall, she helped arrange the Value-added Agriculture Tour for Beginning Farmers.

Additional Biographical Information:

Madeline Schultz attended Iowa State University where she received degrees in Agricultural Business and Economics in 2003 and an MBA in 2008. Her long-time involvement in diverse family farming operations provides a strong background for her current work. She has also volunteered in many youth organizations and currently serves as the Iowa FFA Alumni Secretary and the ISU Student National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA) Advisor.
