July 21 - Fruit and Vegetable Field Day in Mitchell and Howard Counties
Visit two farms southeast of Osage in Mitchell County. Brothers Dan and Leroy Zimmerman grow vegetables for wholesale market at the Cedar Valley Produce Auction at Elma in Howard County. July 24 - Fruit and Vegetable Field Day in Shelby County
See a variety of fruit species grown in high tunnels, including peaches, raspberries and melons; compare tomatoes both in high tunnel and outside production; and look at a new tomato trellising system.. In addition, peaches in outdoor production, a variety of apple cultivars, and packing facilities for fresh produce.
