WEIGH-IN IS OPTIONAL FOR THIS YEAR.
With no weigh-in there are several rule changes:
· All swine must purchased and possession taken by April 1st.
· Identification forms and tags must be picked up at the extension office.
· Animals not weighing must have the identification process completed and to the Union County Extension and Outreach office no later than April 11.
· Weigh-in is at your location on April 12/13 and by appointment only.

Gain skills and information to feel safe and prepared when taking on the important responsibility of babysitting.
The workshop for youth currently in 4th - 6th grades will cover:
Decision-making about babysitting
Understanding growth and development of babies and children
Toy safety and play ideas
Handling babies – burping, diapering, feeding
First aid and choking
Expectations and business arrangements
We will use our engineering skills to construct different structures and then conclude with creating a drop aid package that can protect what’s inside and also make it
visible on the ground. It will be a day full of activities and friends!
ISU Extension and Outreach in Clarke and Union County will be partnering together to offer FSQA trainings with live presentations from SWCC Ag students on the required topics and also live animal presentations by volunteers. The trainings have been scheduled for April 2nd and April 5th.
The Beginning and Young Livestock Producer Network, an ISU Extension and Outreach initiative, establishes peer groups of young producers because livestock producers say they like to learn from other producers. They want to have more discussions and opportunities to interact with their peers.
