There are a number of ways to tell what operating system you have. For example, if you have to press Ctrl-Alt-Del to get to the login screen when you first start up your computer, you have Windows 2000 or Windows XP.
One method that works on Windows 98, 2000, and XP machines is to right-click (click with the right mouse button) on the My Computer icon on your desktop. Select Properties. The operating system will be listed along with other System Properties.Posted by dcoates at June 13, 2003 01:56 PM
