Spring Field Day Tour at ISU Southeast Iowa Research Farm

AMES, Iowa — A spring field day for farmers and those who advise farmers about crops will be held at the Iowa State University Southeast Iowa Research Farm near Crawfordsville June 26 beginning at 1 p.m. Elwynn Taylor, extension climatologist with Iowa State University, will be on hand to talk about the crop weather outlook and how new weather stations will benefit Iowa farmers.
Other presentations that will be featured on the tour include:
• Darren Mueller, extension plant pathologist—Making Fungicide Application Decisions
• Matt Helmers, ISU extension Ag engineer—Soil Drainage Update
• Myron Rees, farm superintendent—Crop Season Review
Certified Crop Advisor continuing education credits will be available for the afternoon tour. Those wishing to obtain additional CCA credits can come at 9 a.m. for a morning training session on soil and water management. The credit fee for Certified Crop Advisors attending the morning session is $50 and includes lunch. There is no fee for the afternoon tours.
Registrations for the morning CCA session and lunch must be made by June 24 using the online form at https://isuext.typeform.com/to/ekWgkd or calling the Muscatine County Extension Office at 563-263-5701.
To reach the farm, follow U.S. Highway 218 for one and three-quarter miles south of Crawfordsville, turn east on County Road G62 for two miles, and go north three-quarters of a mile. Signs will be posted to the event.
