   Objectives for this course include historical and current events that shape the inclusion of students with special needs; functional behavioral assessment; alternative forms of assessment, testing, and grading for students with special needs; and specific educational strategies which benefit all students, including those with disabilities, and the gifted and talented. Students must attend all lectures, take notes, complete assignments, and participate in class discussions/activities; complete all assigned readings as listed on the class schedule and any supplemental readings as assigned; write one argumentative essay (30 points); and take two exams (75 points each) and two quizzes (10 points each). The exams and quizzes are objective in nature and comprised of multiple choice items (the exams are not cumulative).

   Students will gain practical experience using digital tools and will be able to discuss content and design issues as they relate to nonprofit Web site / ePortfolio production. All instruction will be delivered online. Students must have Internet access and access to a digital camera or scanner so they are able to digitize artifacts for their Web site project. Experience in Web editing is not required, although students should be experienced using a Web browser.

   Section EXV: by the end of this course, students will have produced a nonprofit Web site / ePortfolio that may be used to promote a nonprofit organization on the Internet. All instruction will be delivered online. Students must have Internet access and access to a digital camera or scanner so they are able to digitize artifacts for their ePortfolio project.    Section EXW: by the end of this course, students will have produced an electronic portfolio on the Web that can be used as an assessment, job seeking, or career enhancement tool. Registration in Section EXW is open to all students. Students in the Certificate in Nonprofit Management program should register in Section EXV.
