Five Story County residents were elected to the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Story County Council in the Nov. 8 general election. They areTim Couser-Nevada, Megan Jedlicka-McCallsburg, Melissa McEnany-Ames, Leonard Foley-Huxley and MaryAnn Gardner-Nevada.

Mary Wilkins began her work with ISU Extension and Outreach-Story County as the County 4-H Youth Coordinator over 14 years ago. During that time, Mary has created a vibrant 4-H program that has over 400 enrolled 4-H’ers in grades 4-12 in addition to 175 enrolled 4-H Clover Kids in Kindergarten through third grade.

The 4-H Reunion has become a tradition at the Story County Fair.  Over 140 people attended the 2016 Reunion in Christy 4-H Hall.  This year past and present Fair Board members were honored at the Reunion.  Fair board members give countless hours to provide an educational experience for youth.

Two new staff join the Story County Extension team in time for county fair.  While they both have 4-H and county fair experiences, this will be their first Story County Fair.  Katelyn Blake joins the team as the County 4-H Youth Coordinator and Katie Williams as Program Assistant.
