Join 4-H

4-H Youth Development empowers children (K – 3) and youth (4 – 12) to reach their full potential by working and learning in partnership with caring adults.  4-H positive youth development programming provides opportunities for young people to become competent, caring, contributing, confident, and connected citizens with character. Youth camps, trips, and scholarships are also available. Please contact the Extension Office at 515-382-6551 for more information.

Membership fees for the 2014-2015 year are:

  • Clover Kids - $10 ($15 for members re-enrolling after November 15th)
  • 4-H - $35 ($45 for members re-enrolling after November 15th)

 

There are over 25 4-H Clubs in Story County to choose from! 

Register online at Iowa 4-H Online or complete the paper forms and return to the Story County Extension Office.

In July, the Story County Youth Fair will have been at the present Nevada location for 75 years.  Prior to  1940, the countywide 4-H shows were held in such places as the Ames Highway Commission, Ames field House, Nevada sales barn, churches, and the Tri-County Fair at Story City.  In 1939, interest was generated for a permanent location.

Anyone who is carrying out an educational program or activity which benefits the 4-H Youth of Story County may apply for a Story County 4-H Foundation Grant. 4-H youth or adult volunteers may also request financial assistance for skill development and/or
