Babysitting Basics Class Offered in Ames
There will be a Babysitting Basics Class on Friday, March 21st at the Ames City Hall located at 515Clark Ave, in conference room 135. The class begins at 8:30 am and ends at 4:30 pm. The class is open to 5th and 6th graders who are interested in becoming babysitters or becoming a more prepared and informed babysitter. There is a $25.00 fee for materials and the deadline for signing up is March 14th.
Participants will learn about the responsibilities of a babysitter, what employers expect, and how to care for infants and toddlers. There will also be guest speakers teaching on the subjects of age appropriate toys and activities, safety, and basic first aid and rescue breathing. All participants receive a book filled with information about childcare as well as a certificate of completion at the end of the course.
