2009 Live Healthy Iowa & Biggest Loser Competition

What is Live Healthy Iowa? Live Healthy Iowa (LHI) is a team based program designed to help Iowans make positive changes during the course of 100 Days (January 14 – April 23). Live Healthy Iowa brings together friends, families, businesses and communities in a team-based nutrition, activity and weight loss program designed to promote a healthier lifestyle. Live Healthy Iowa is a part of a nationwide program, Live Healthy America.

Community Conversations on Diversity

Ames Community Conversations on Diversity (CCDC), a volunteer coalition came together to address serious racial, class and ethnic tensions in Ames. Our goal was to bring people in our community together to talk, think, and work towards solving local problems. We invited Ames residents from all walks of life to participate in a series of facilitated community conversations held in October and November of 2008, concluded with a city-wide Action Forum.

Connecting Learning & Living Curriculum Training

A Connecting Learning & Living Curriculum Training is being held on Saturday, January 17 from 8 am - 12:30 pm at the ISU Extension - Story County Office in Nevada. The training is available for teachers, 4-H volunteers, master gardeners, and others who are interested in implementing science based learning programs with youth.
