Communication Contest group

The 4-H Communication Contest is being held at the Evangelical Free Church in Story City on Friday, April 13 from 4:00 to 9:00 pm and Saturday, April 14 from 8:30 am until 12 noon.  Contest exhibitors are 4-H youth in grades 4-12 and Clover Kids in Kindergarten through third grade.  Attendees will hear presentations with topics selected by youth, view themed posters, and participate in exhibitors’ working exhibits to enhance knowledge, develop a skill, or learn how to make something.  Some exhibitors will also be participating in the Extemporaneous Speaking and/or Writing events.  Exhibits entered by 4-H’ers will be evaluated and judges will select exhibits for exhibition at the Iowa State Fair.  Clover Kid exhibits will receive participation ribbons.  Volunteer opportunities to help with set-up, take pictures, record results, hang posters, host contest rooms, and clean-up are available.  For additional information, contact Mary Wilkins, 4-H Youth Coordinator, at mwilkins@iastate.edu or the ISU Extension Story County office at 515-382-6551.
