September 12, 2016

Mary Wilkins began her work with ISU Extension and Outreach-Story County as the County 4-H Youth Coordinator over 14 years ago. During that time, Mary has created a vibrant 4-H program that has over 400 enrolled 4-H’ers in grades 4-12 in addition to 175 enrolled 4-H Clover Kids in Kindergarten through third grade.

The 4-H Reunion has become a tradition at the Story County Fair.  Over 140 people attended the 2016 Reunion in Christy 4-H Hall.  This year past and present Fair Board members were honored at the Reunion.  Fair board members give countless hours to provide an educational experience for youth.

“The council members elected this year will be involved in bringing educational opportunities to Story County for the next four years,” Boelman said. ISU Extension and Outreach educational programming is a cooperative effort involving local citizens, Iowa State University and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
