On January 6, 2012 the Story County 4-H Senior Horse Judging team represented the State of Iowa at the Western National Roundup in Denver, Colorado. This took place in conjunction with the National Western Stock Show.

The 4-H Communication Contest is being held at the Evangelical Free Church in Story City on Friday, April 13 from 4:00 to 9:00 pm and Saturday, April 14 from 8:30 am until 12 noon. Contest exhibitors are 4-H youth in grades 4-12 and Clover Kids in Kindergarten through third grade.

4-H Leadership Project Will Support Project Linus

Donating 200 blankets to Project Linus this year is the goal of Story County 4-H member Luke Durkop. As part of his 4-H leadership experience, he will be holding a Blanket Making Day on February 18 at Christy 4-H Hall in Nevada.

Parent-Child Cell Phone Debate Continues

Parents can exert a measure of control over their child’s mobile phone use by limiting use, checking its contents and using it to monitor the whereabouts of their offspring. However, with a few exceptions, these activities by parents do not seem to impact patterns of cell phone use by teens, according to Iowa State University Extension and Outreach family life specialists.
4-H Camp Counselors Grow with Campers
