Objectives


  • To support a strong, safe, and vital 4-H program
  • To support educational programs that encourage growth and excitement in youth
  • To make 4-H more accessible to more youth
  • To support and recognize youth and adults in the program

Award Categories:


  • Grants for a 4-H club/group’s project, program, workshop, or an individual’s project, program, workshop
  • Financial Assistance for Youth
  • Financial Assistance for 4-H Volunteers for training to enhance skills as a volunteer
  • Membership fees for members who are forming a new club or group will be paid at the Extension office in full the first year. The completed form, Request for Payment of 4H Member Enrollment Fees, should accompany the Enrollment Forms when they are submitted to the Story County office. These fees apply to youth, Kindergarten through 12th grade, who are joining for the first time and are forming a new club/group. One-half of the membership fees will be paid the 2nd year.

Application Dates

Each of these categories requires an application or request for the funds. These may be submitted 4 times a year: March 1, June 1, September 1, and December 1. Each application will be reviewed and grants will be awarded shortly after the first of April, July, October, and January. Recipients of dollars received through a grant application (EGA-1) are to make a report within a year of the date of award on how funds were used. All applications must be submitted to ISU Extension - Story County, 220 H Avenue, Box 118, Nevada, IA 50201.

Who can apply?

Anyone who is carrying out an educational program or activity which benefits the 4-H Youth of Story County may apply for the Grant. 4-H youth or adult volunteers may request financial assistance. Leaders of new 4-H clubs or groups are encouraged to seek assistance with member fees. Application forms are available at the Extension Office or through the links above.
