Iowa State University Extension and Outreach in Story and Boone Countieswill be offering a Master Gardener training course this Fall.  Classes will meet at Reiman Gardens in Ames for all sessions with the exception of one Saturday session that will be on the ISU Campus.

In July, the Story County Youth Fair will have been at the present Nevada location for 75 years.  Prior to  1940, the countywide 4-H shows were held in such places as the Ames Highway Commission, Ames field House, Nevada sales barn, churches, and the Tri-County Fair at Story City.  In 1939, interest was generated for a permanent location.

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach offers nutrition classes to families on limited incomes with children under age 10 or who are expecting a child. The next session of the Family Nutrition Program begins April 21st, 2015 at the Story County Extension Office, in Nevada.

Anyone who is carrying out an educational program or activity which benefits the 4-H Youth of Story County may apply for a Story County 4-H Foundation Grant. 4-H youth or adult volunteers may also request financial assistance for skill development and/or
