This is the 60th anniversary of the Fair and we hope you would join in making this a year to remember. We need funding to operate the event. We currently charge no fee for youth or schools to participate in SSTFI and we want to see that continue.

The State Science and Technology Fair of Iowa (SSTFI) was held on Thursday, March 31, and Friday, April 1. Junior school students displayed and communicated their projects on April 1. We have completed follow up on our original review. Please check status of your student’s projects to check current status. If revisions or additional paperwork is needed please upload and then email firstname.lastname@example.org to let me know to go back and follow up. Many projects that aren’t approved don’t have abstracts or research plans. Also please do a final review of all paperwork and bring it to the fair in case the SRC committee missed some things. Iowa State's Student Chapter of the American Meteorological Society will be hosting its second annual Science Fair on Saturday, April 9th and we are reaching out to you to help us spread the word. Brief information related to this event is listed below and a flyer is attached for more detailed information. The fair is free to enter and there will be prizes for the top projects! Projects do not have to be weather-related, they can be on any topic. If you know of anyone that would be interested in participating in this event, please forward the information to them. Registration for the workshops at SSTFI 2016 is now open. This will be the only registration for workshops. Students need to register on a first come, first served basis. The BioGENEius Challenge has come to Iowa and will take place during the State Science and Technology Fair of Iowa on March 31st! The winner of the Iowa BioGENEius Challenge and a chaperone will receive travel and accommodations to compete against other regional winners at the International BioGENEius Challenge this June in San Francisco. They will also receive an IowaBio SSTFI College Scholarship in the amount of $2,000 if the student attends college in the state of Iowa and $1,000 if they attend college out of state. As of today, teachers can upload their student's documents as well. Just click on the "Upload additional documents" link under the project to go to the upload page. The registration number is the project number. This functionality has been added to allow editing of the entry to resolve these issues.
As for the project approval status, this page will be the place to view this, as well as an email will be generated with the change. The review process has not yet began. Read more about Project Uploading Update
