Iowa Storm, Tornado Victims Eligible for Disaster Relief

As a result of the severe storms, tornadoes, and flooding in May and June, the IRS has declared that certain taxpayers who live or conduct business in forty-eight counties in Iowa are eligible for specified tax relief.

Over 200 students participated in this summers STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) program. Southeast Iowa held programs in Iowa, Johnson, and Linn Counties. Gov. Chet Culver was in Linn County to announce a $200,000 one-year grant that will help develop a model for improving student learning in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. The Citizens Advisory Council members are appointed by the Vice President for Extension and Outreach at Iowa State University. The Council includes approximately 35 members, each serving a three-year term. The Citizens Advisory Council has been a key and consistent link between Extension Administration and the citizens of Iowa
