As a result of the severe storms, tornadoes, and flooding in May and June, the IRS has declared that certain taxpayers who live or conduct business in forty-eight counties in Iowa are eligible for specified tax relief.

Over 200 students participated in this summers STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) program. Southeast Iowa held programs in Iowa, Johnson, and Linn Counties. Gov. Chet Culver was in Linn County to announce a $200,000 one-year grant that will help develop a model for improving student learning in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.
