To Recertify with 2008 Expiration...

If your certification expires December 31, 2008, AND you have attended CIC programs in BOTH 2006–2007 and 2007–2008, you have two options to renew:

• attend a CIC program between December

   2008 and April 15, 2009, or retest.

  Recertify with 2008 Expiration...

To Recertify with 2009 Expiration...

If your certification expires December 31, 2009, and you have attended a CIC program for 2007–2008, you can attend a CIC program
for 2008–2009 and 2009–2010, or retest when your certification expires.

To Recertify with 2010 Expiration...

If you wish to recertify by training and not
by exam, you must attend a CIC session each year, starting this winter. Remember, you
always have the option of taking the exam
to recertify.

If you miss one year of CIC programs, Iowa law requires you to retest when your certification expires. The exam is given by the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS).  If you score 70 percent or more and pay the $15 fee, you will be certified for 3 years.

To find out your current certification status, call the IDALS Pesticide Bureau at (515) 281-8591 or call the Sioux County Extension Office at 712-737-4230.

 al Certification

To become certified initially, you must take the exam offered by IDALS. A Study Guide (PAT 1) is available for purchase at your county extension office.

There is a $15 training fee for attending
ISU Extension educational CIC programs (including Private Continuing Instructional Courses). This fee partially replaces state support that was reallocated within the
state government.estions
