Stories 2000
Christie Vilsack, Iowa's First Lady, promotes literacy through Stories 2000. The goals of Stories 2000 are to strengthen communities, families, and children through reading, storytelling, and libraries.
 
First Lady Vilsack promotes the importance of reading and sharing stories with children early in life as a means of fostering family identity and as a means of preparing children to read and hopes to rebuild a sense of community in Iowa focusing on Iowa's public and school libraries as community centers for lifelong learning. She also wants to foster a working relationsihp between school librarians and public librarians who can promote libraries as forums for intergenerational sharing of personal stories, family stories and community stories.

Dr. Jim Gambone
Dr. Gambone is a community organizer, media producer and internationally recognized lecturer and workshop leader. He is principal partner in Points of View Incorporated, a production and consulting firm dedicated to intergenerational issues. Dr. Gambone conducted a training workshop on September 20, 2000, for Iowa State University staff and community leaders and introduced a model and tool for promoting intergenerational awareness.
 
Points Of View Incorporated is a family owned independent company dedicated to bringing the five living generations together with respect, caring, and cooperation. They provide training, consultation, products, and motivational speaking on a wide range of issues affecting all generations living in an aging society.
 
Across Generations Project
St. Paul Pioneer Press, St. Paul, Minnesota Highlights an award winning news series and contains stories, opinions, ideas for volunteering and connections to other resources.
 
Center for Intergenerational Learning at Temple University
Fosters intergenerational cooperation and exchange through the development of cross-age programs training and technical assistance and dissemination of materials on a national level in the USA.
