Carroll, Iowa - Farmers and landowners will learn about the new programs authorized by the Agricultural Act of 2014 (commonly referred to as the Farm Bill) at an informational meeting conducted by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach and the local USDA Farm Service Agency staff members.  Carroll County ISU Extension and Outreach office plans to sponsor the meeting with Farm Credit Services of America on February 18, 2015 in Carroll at 3 pm at the Carroll Recreation Center Auditorium.  Pre-registration is not necessary.

Steve Ferguson, Ag Program Specialist with Iowa Finance Authority, will be leading this program in Sac City on Wednesday, February 25 from 6-8 pm. 

The Beginning Farmer Tax Credit (BFTC) program was enacted by the Iowa legislature as an incentive to keep land in production agriculture, by allowing agricultural asset owners to earn tax credit for leasing their land to beginning farmers. The program includes tax credit for leasing of ag land, depreciable machinery or equipment, breeding livestock and buildings.
