9. The only role of a public issue
educator is to provide information on a public policy.

An educator can serve in several roles and provide
different functions depending upon the group with which they are working
with. One role can be that of an information provider, serving as a source
of relevant information.
Other roles include serving as a:
Convener - the person who calls the group together for collaborative
learning or problem solving
Program planner - who
designs educational material that is appropriate for the learning style
of those working together
Facilitator - leading
the group through the process
Advisor/Analyst - who
works to identify and clarify the issue, alternatives and consequences
Forecaster - who identifies
issues early, even as they are emerging.
