Program: Statistics in the Community (STATCOM) is a community outreach program that serves local communities throughout the nation. At Iowa State, STATCOM offers statistical advice and expertise to governmental and nonprofit groups. Students in the Department of Statistics coordinate the statistical consulting services provided through STATCOM.
Audience: Nonprofit organizations, learning centers, libraries, schools, and city governments that are seeking assistance with survey design, data analysis and data-informed decision-making.
Estimated Fee: Consulting services are free. Expenses to requesting organizations include travel and materials costs.
Location: STATCOM is housed in the Department of Statistics at Iowa State University. Staff will visit communities as needed.
Initial contact will be made within two weeks. Project completion time is dependent on project complexity.
