Program: SUDAS is the statewide standard for design and construction of all types of common urban public works improvements (generally, those found in the street rights-of-way) in the State of Iowa. The program primarily consists of the maintenance and improvement of two manuals, design and specifications. These manuals are used to provide uniform design guidelines for engineers and construction specifications for contractors.
Audience: Local agencies, cities, and counties can voluntarily use and adopt the manuals for their communities. Consultants and industry can also use the documents as their standards.
Estimated Fee: None. The manuals are available on the SUDAS website at www.iowasudas.org. Hard copies are $55.50 for the Design Manual and $75.50 for the Specifications Manual.
