GIS Short Courses

Program: One and two day short courses covering the basics of GIS and Esri’s ArcGIS software suite. The course will explore the new, easy-to-use features in Esri's ArcGIS 10.2 software suite which includes ArcMap, ArcCatalog and ArcToolbox.
Topics covered:
• Displaying, projecting and editing data
• Working with tables
• Working with georeferenced data
• Querying your database and selecting features by location
• Making good maps from the data

Audience: This course is intended for both new and experienced users of geographic information systems. Experience using Windows-based applications is highly recommended.

Sponsor/Provider: Community and Economic Development Extension and Outreach

Estimated Fee: $500 per person for two day training. Discounts available for multiple registrations from the same institution. Fee includes course tutorial, class handouts, snacks and beverages.

Location: Iowa State University Research Park; arrangements also may be made for on-site delivery for groups of 6-12 people.

Availability: Courses are available once every three months.
