This webinar will focus on poverty measures, guidelines, thresholds, and data and discuss what the measures and guidelines are, where we get the information, how to use them, and what the recent trends show. Participants will work with data examples from Iowa's counties and communities and learn about when the specific poverty measures may be used most appropriately.

Youth, Race, Ethnicity, and Langauge Webinar: What are the Trends and how to Use the Data

(Facilitated by Sandra Burke and Youth 4H Staff) The webinar will review recent Iowa trends for youth as well as trends for race and ethnic populations. The webinar will have an in-depth focus on how race, ethnicity, and language trends have affected and changed Iowa's youth population. The webinar will include discussion of how race and ethnic indicators are defined and how they may best be used for programming and work with clients. A trends report will also be available.

Excellence in Extension

The Excellence in Extension Fund is designed to improve and enrich the quality of educational programs offered by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. Dollars contributed to the fund are allocated among three different areas: Professional improvement continuing education grants to Iowa State University Extension and Outreach personnel, grants to develop and deliver innovative Iowa State University Extension and Outreach education programs, and achievement/recognition awards for Iowa State University Extension and Outreach personnel.
