The “Managing for Today and Tomorrow” is a five –session course offered by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. This is a new Annie’s Project Course program that was held on Monday nights starting April 8th, 2013 through May 6th at Kinze Manufacturing in Williamsburg. Poweshiek County Extension facilitated the program for ISU Farm Management Specialists, Bob Wells and Ryan Drollette. 13 women from Poweshiek, Jasper, Benton, Iowa, and Johnson County participated in the program.
During the five sessions, these farm women learned about business, estate, retirement and succession planning from ISU Extension and Outreach specialists and area professionals. These women learned more about creating a transition plan to make sure their farm continues as a productive, agricultural business.
The program was sponsored by Farm Credit Services of America, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, Poweshiek County Extension, Poweshiek County Farm Bureau, Jasper County Farm Bureau, County State Bank, Montezuma State Bank, and Iowa Soybean Association.
