Poweshiek County Extension 4-H Junior Master Gardener Program will begin meeting Thursday, March 27th at the Poweshiek County Fairgrounds The club is open to all youth in grades 4 through 8 whether or not they are currently 4-H members.

All commercial pesticide applicators must take examinations in order to become initially certified and some choose to become re-certified by examination rather than by attending continuing instructional courses.  A training session designed to help individuals prepare for the commercial pesticide applicator examinations will be offered in Washington on Wednesday, March 5 in the Washington County Extension Office on the fairgrounds at 2223 250th St.  The test help session will run from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The Poweshiek County Extension Council elected four officers during the organizational meeting January 21, 2014.  The nine-member council annually elects officers to comply with Iowa law.
