Phil graduated from Iowa State University in 2002 with a B.S. in History and a Social Studies Teaching License. He began his career with ISU Extension and Outreach in January 2008. Phil previously worked from Living History Farms for five and a half years as Farm Supervisor from the 1850 and 1900 farms. He is a Clarke County 4-H alum.
