Just in Time Parenting - Answers at the Click of a Mouse
ISU Extension and Outreach is partnering with other Extension programs across the country to offer Iowans a parenting website entitled Just in Time Parenting.
“The Just in Time Parenting site provides parents with an updated source of research-based information about raising children from infants through the teenage years. It’s hard to know which information sites to trust when looking on the internet,” said Joy Rouse, Families Program Specialist. “This website was created by Extension specialists across the country; people with backgrounds related to parenting and who work closely with parents. It brings experts from around the nation together and connects with parents via the web.”
Just in Time Parenting provides newsletters, podcasts, videos, publications and “frequently asked questions" (FAQ) based upon actual parent questions submitted to the site. Current issues are also featured.
“Just in Time Parenting allows parents to choose their favored method of communication. Parents may subscribe to a monthly e-mailed newsletter based upon the age of their child from birth to five years of age. The newsletter, available in English or Spanish provides practical, research-based information on common parenting questions and concerns. “ said Rouse.
