The Adventure Learning Center offers exciting Summer programs
The Adventure Learning Center is excited to bring 2 new day camp options to the youth of Central Iowa. Each is designed to enhance the personal efficacy of the participants, and mold them into leaders ready to affect the world around them.
For High School students: Facilitator in Training (FIT)
Facilitator in Training is a 4-week co-ed experience designed to provide leadership opportunities that prepare teens to become staff members at the Adventure Learning Center, as well as productive members of their home community. The FIT program includes: extensive training in all aspects of ropes course facilitation, personal leadership development, and real-world experience working with client groups.
Dates: June 10th-July 3rd or July 15th-Aug. 7th
Times: 8:30am - 5:00pm
Grades: Entering 9th -12th grade in the fall of 2013.

For Middle School Students Ricochet on the Ropes
Ricochet, to the team, means moving lively and energetically with some level of unpredictability. Participants (middle school youth) are finding their place in the world around them and are trying on many different roles. Real leadership is not about calling yourself “leader,” rather it’s about taking up the cause to change some piece of the world for the better. Real leadership, in other words, is an extreme act rooted in love and motivated by a desire to create a better world – whether it’s the world of your, school, team, neighborhood, or family. Often time’s leadership opportunities come at unpredictable moments of time. Where the window of opportunity is barely visible to the naked eye. With preparation, youth can identify these opportunities and be ready to accept the challenges as they come.
Dates: Coed - June 10th-14th
Girls Only - June 17th-21st
Boys Only - June 24th-28th
Waukee Students Only - July 22nd-26th
Coed - July 29th - August 2nd
Times: 8:30am - 5:00pm
Grades: Entering 6th - 8th grade in the fall of 2013.
