Iowa State University Extension and Outreach field agronomists Paul Kassel and Angie Rieck-Hinz will host a Palmer amaranth identification and management workshop on Friday, March 24.

Mark Your Calendars for the Pocahontas County Master Gardeners 11th Annual Garden Extravaganza on April 7, 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. & April 8,  9:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at the Expo Center located at the Pocahontas Fairgrounds. The Garden Extravaganza will feature garden plants and décor for sale, door prizes, classes, workshops, and educational handouts.

NEW this year will be a Friday Evening Session 5:00 -7:00 p.m. with wine tasting and appetizers.

On Saturday, the Pocahontas Garden Club will serve coffee and rolls at 9:00 a.m. for a nominal fee and a maid-rite lunch from 11:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. for a small fee. Saturday presentations will be held in the Fair Office at 9:15 a.m. with Marlene Boernsen, Boernsen Bees presenting on Beekeeping and 10:30 a.m. with Kevin Fehr, Iowa Lakes Community College presenting on Pollinator Gardens.

All market lambs that will be exhibited at the 2017 Pocahontas County Fair must be weighed in Saturday, April 8, 2017 from 9:00-10:30 a.m. at the Pocahontas County Fairgrounds.  Please call the ISU Extension and Outreach Pocahontas County office at 712-335-3103 if you have any questions.
