Just a Bite – Managing Food Allergies in Childcare is March 1

Iowa State University Pocahontas County Extension and Outreach is offering training for child care providers that helps to identify signs and symptoms of food allergies and common food allergens for children. The incidence of food allergies is on the rise, increasing the chances that childcare providers will have a child with food allergies in their care.

Towns Selected for 2012 Community Visioning Program

Farmland Value Reaches Historic $6,708 Statewide Average

Average Iowa farmland value is estimated to be $6,708 per acre, an increase of 32.5 percent from 2010, according to results of the Iowa Land Value Survey conducted in November. This is the highest percentage increase ever recorded by the Iowa State University annual survey.
